Day 3: Boston to Portland

No point in getting up too early because the case delivery people don't get in till 9.00, so any thoughts of an early departure have gone, now.

After about an hour of the reception staff ringing round a combination of BA and courier service, the second case is finally located - and will be delivered in about two hours time. Any thoughts of a morning departure is now out the window - thanks guys!

Lexington is the chosen spot for the morning sightseeing and case wait, so off we go.

Lexington is Chokka  with bus tours and tourists, but, undeterred we still have a nice little walk round the town/village - the green, the graveyard (sorry, burial ground), Hancock-Clark house, Buckman tavern. All these place have connections with Paul Revere, his ride, his friend/accomplices and so on.

Back to the hotel and BINGO the second case is there - naturally there is no apology from courier or BA but what do you expect from companies like that - courtesy?

At last we can get on our way the first stop is now Salem - of witch hunt fame.

After a good session in Salem it is time to head North out of Massachusetts and into Maine on our way to Portland. It isn't long before Maine manifests itself as not a fun state as by the roadside there is sign after sign telling you what not to do and what you'll be prosecuted for:

Arrived at the hotel after dark, but the directions were quite good and the hotel name sign was lit up which also helped a lot.
